Nvidia May Launch the RTX 5060 SUPER with 12 GB of Memory in 2026

A new rumor suggests that the manufacturer hasn't given up on the SUPER models, and the RTX 5060 is now another card rumored to be getting more VRAM in these challenging times.

Nvidia still plans to launch the GeForce RTX 50 SUPER series, according to a new rumor circulating on the social media platform X. On the platform, tipster MEGAsizeGPU indicated that these SUPER models are back on the production track at the company, with a new RTX 5060 expected to feature more onboard VRAM at a higher price point.

In the case of this new RTX 5060, it may even be called the RTX 5060 SUPER. In any case, this model is expected to feature a 50% increase in memory capacity, jumping from the current 8 GB on the GDDR7 protocol to 12 GB—the same amount found in the RTX 5070.

It remains to be seen whether this increase in memory will also bring other improvements, such as a wider bus, higher bandwidth, and faster speeds. Both the current 8GB and 16GB RTX 5060 Ti models differ in memory capacity but share the same specifications.

Rumors about the RTX 50 SUPER series date back to shortly after the original launch of the first RTX 50 models in early 2025. Although the source mentioned this RTX 5060 with more VRAM, there isn’t much new information. What is universally agreed upon in all the speculation is that the graphics cards will have an extra dose of memory.

The RTX 5080 SUPER may also be in the works

In addition to the 12GB GeForce RTX 5060, Nvidia is also expected to release other models, according to earlier rumors. The most widely speculated graphics cards for this launch are the RTX 5070 SUPER and RTX 5080 SUPER, both of which were heavily criticized for the lack of VRAM upgrades in their original versions.

The RTX 5080 would move from its 16 GB to 24 GB in the SUPER version, while the RTX 5070 would come with 18 GB, a significant jump from the 12 GB used in the original model. It is also said that these models are expected to perform very similarly to the original versions, without major performance gains.

Since games are requiring more and more memory to run at high resolutions, such as 4K, this should be interesting news for enthusiasts. Technologies like DLSS 4.5 and Multi-Frame Generation (up to 6x) also consume a lot of memory, so Nvidia is likely keeping a close eye on this.

The RTX 50 SUPER series was initially expected to launch in late 2025, and expectations later shifted to early 2026. The growing component shortage is derailing Nvidia’s plans, and it remains unclear when these products will be released. In any case, with the rising cost of RAM, these models are likely to come with very high price tags.
